My name is Wilson Bird, Will for short. I am Woodland Cree and I grew up in La Ronge, Saskatchewan on Treaty 6 territory. Here I will be showcasing my work and all of the projects I’ve worked on throughout the Indigitech program with IFA. My main goal with completing the program was to get a head start in practicing coding and being able to secure an internship to continue in front-end development in the future. I enjoy learning and the trial and error process to see how things work. I find this type of work to be engaging and challenging in ways that drive me to persevere so I’m very excited to embark on this journey!

Posted here is a video of a music festival/community event in La Ronge that I’ve been involved in in the past and am proud to showcase here because it made me into the person I am today. Despite not currently being involved due to living circumstances, I was passionate about engaging with my community as a young teenager who was an avid performer in the past and I’m hoping to give the festival the recognition it deserves. This place is where the roots of my creativity, confidence, and work ethic come from as it was established by a music teacher of mine who inspired me to continue my education and engage in my love for music, media and performance.
